1870s, Danes began settling rural eastern IA 1879, an early Danish Baptist congregation in IA, formed two years after the first Danish Baptist baptisms in Cuppy’s Grove IA (1877). Organized by Marcus Hansen, the Danish-Norwegian missionary for IA with 10 members. Cemetery includes Danish immigrants or first-generation Danes According to Bob Olsen, whose ancestors were members, this is a newer building, built in the 1940
